July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Sega's quiet quarter drops it to a loss

Sega highlighted PSO2 on the Vita/PC as one of the high points of its consumer business, as it reported its latest results. But with only one new game out on 3DS, it was hardly a stellar period for the company. Ahead of Tokyo Games Show, there's very little in the way of forward looking statements, so we don't know what Sega has planned.

It made a small loss on the quarter, with summer not looking much better, looks like Hatsune Miku 2ndF dropped off the charts pretty quick. Chain Chronicle V coming to Vita should help its digital downloads, but it looks like we wait for Autumn for any big news.
