Freedom Wars fights into top spot, fails to set Vita hardware alight

Vita sales were up around 11,000 in Japan, as Freedom Wars launched, but the game failed to have the impact of Toukiden, Soul Sacrifice and others. The game itself managed a very healthy 188,888 sales, the second best Vita launch behind God Eater 2, not bad for a new IP too.

On the plus side, the Vita is now over 3 million sales in Japan, but it is the slowest of any console to get to that figure. In Japan, the game has come in for criticism for being too hard and not having enough content, which will hopefully be addressed by patches and updates by the time of the western launch.

Vita TV sales were up over 1,000, and the Vita itself was up healthily but not massively. Here's the software run down with Panzer Girls making a decent punch into the top five and visual novel Robotics;Notes creeping into the top 20:
