Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. I only really discovered the console world in the late 90s, which is when I got my very first Vectrex. The best PSN EU Vita update ever? Get ready for Toukiden, Danganronpa, txK and more

Rarely has so much quality been packed into such a week's release, a shame most of them aren't out until Friday. Still, this is probably one of only three occasions when I've gone "wow" at the quality of a week's releases for the Vita.

Get ready to crowbar open your wallets for Dangaronpa Trigger Happy Havoc where murder is most definitely on the curriculum, Toukiden bringing modern monster slaying to the Vita and the LEGO movie game.

But my top bet is on TxK, Jeff Minter's startling reinvention of the Tempest 2000 shooter, and only £5 and change, less for PS+. However, you may need to hire someone to pry the Vita from your sweaty hands as you're sucked into the finest of twitch shooters. Note, the soundtrack will soon be available if it gets your gaming juices pumping.

Also,  please don't forget the smart-looking Creatures and Castles VX on PlayStation Mobile.
