Soul Saga stretch goal adds extra characters

Soul Saga passed its Kickstarter funding with room to spare and now has passed a $125,000 Guild Master stretch goal, meaning extra playable characters. Depending on the final budget, the game may contain anywhere between 5 to 20 playable characters, not including the 4 main characters which have already been announced.

The Guild recruiting system takes inspiration from Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden. Each playable character has their own back story, triggered events and individual quests to complete in order to recruit them to your party. Some characters may even be renowned enemies from the main story, who can become your ally later on through secret story lines.

You can have up to 3 characters at a time in your party, however the new Guild recruiting system allows you to swap out any party member for other recruited characters and compose your ultimate battle squad, although certain quests will require you to have specific characters in your party. Your Airship will be your mobile base of operations where you can swap the members in and out at your leisure.

After reaching the $135,000 mark over the weekend, Soul Saga backers have also successfully unlocked the 'Forgotten Beasts' stretch goal, which they may very well regret later... Titans so terrible that history books would rather forget now roam free in the lands of Oterra. These mighty monsters will take all of your skill, power and strategy to defeat and will be encountered both on land and in the sky.
