PSP2, Switch 2 and an Xbox handheld... a brighter portable future?

Sly Cooper: another Sony title bombs, barely disrupts the Vita chart

In the U.K. at least, Sly Cooper wasn't a welcome critter, failing to make the combined top 30 (around 8,000 sales needed based on available info), only making No. 13 on the PS3 chart and No. 5 on the Vita chart. Sure, all the console gamers rushed out to get Bioshock Infinite, but there was little competition on the Vita.

The game managed decent reviews, but I've hardly noticed any marketing for it and in the current era, its cartoon approach might be perceived as a game for the younger player. Perhaps if the UK version had sported a British voice-cast (expensive, I know, but in the demo and trailers, the voices were so bland) it would have generated more awareness and  done a little better.

On Amazon's popular list its below pre-orders of Soul Sacrifice (FYI shipping with a month's PS+ sub - see below), which is looking like the system's next big seller here.

1 - FIFA 13 EA SPORTS
2 + ASSASSIN'S CREED III LIBERATION UBISOFT
3 - CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS DECLASSIFIED ACTIVISION
4 + NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED EA GAMES

On the plus side, it sold around 100,000 across both formats on its launch week in the U.S., and it should have a decent life on PSN with a fair £19.99 price, but with a 3.3GB file size I'm not sure how many will be downloading it as a priority buy.
