July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. New characters and screens for Ys Celceta

The latest Ys adventure is getting ready to spread its wings, with the unveiling of new characters and screens on the game's official site (Japanese). Falcom introduces the sweet 16 year-old Lisa who will play a key part in the adventure and Griselda, a governor of one of the realms (you can see some more detail in the Character section on the site.


Following on from Persona, and Time Traveler, it looks like the Vita is building up a neat roster of adventure/RPG titles that should help continue the recent rise in sales. The game is out at the end of September
