Vectrex Mini interview - David Oghia talks up the nostalgic vector powerhouse

Having been wowed by the news of the Vectrex Mini at Gamescom , I rushed off some questions to VectrexOn's main man  David Oghia . After a post-event, well earned, break, he's kindly given us a lot of detail about the project and some new images of the unit to share.  His story mirrors mine somewhat, Vectrex represents a glowing, unaffordable, obelisk of gaming power from our youth! But he's had the energy and drive to do something about it, and met the right people to get the job done!  What first got you interested in Vectrex and what spawned the idea of a Mini version? I’ve always been passionate about retro-gaming, but my first love was computers rather than consoles — the ZX81, then the Commodore 128. Sleepy Jack Gets Xperia Play Exclusive Launch

One of the top 10 best-rated phone games from E3, Sleepy Jack is a pretty trippy Android arcade game that will be getting a 30-day exclusive on the Xperia Play. Developed by the SilverTree team behind Cordy, it's a ride into the mind of a sleeping child who has more vivid dreams than most that you to pilot him through.

With a ring runs, power-up trails, speed bumps and an ambient soundtrack, it has a pretty hazy 16-bit feel to it, with levels that rotate around the player, Sleepy Jack got some solid looking mechanics and some sleepy-slowdown power to help you out of tight spots!

No pricing information yet, but look out for it on the Android store, just for the cute noddy hat if anything! Not a bad day for Xperia Play owners, if you want to get this alongside your free EA games.
