July Update: PlayStation 6 and PlayStation Portable future visions

 The recent PlayStation video about the "simulated" technology in development, discussed between AMD and Sony engineers that will power the PlayStation 6 was interesting from a geek point of view. But from a gameplay perspective, there is - IMO - no need for a PlayStation 6 for another few years. Especially with the limp Xbox is-it-isn't-it launch .  July 2026 Update : Sony managed a cannon-fire sized self-inflicted injury by announcing the end of physical releases across the end of the PS5 era and the launch of the PS6. Mutant Blobs Attack Announced for PS Vita

All those pundits who keep batting on about PS Vita games being too expensive should really look at all the news from smaller developers that's coming out. The latest news comes from Canadian devs Drinkbox Studios whose Mutant Blobs Attack title is unlikely to be retailing for $80.


Its a sequel to About A Blob, a PSN title from last year and is yet another of the fun-looking titles that will help fill in the time between the big hitters that will garner most of the attention on the Vita. More news on this game to follow. Like this trailer for instance:
